President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the government will terminate its agreement with Azrova Maldives, the company contracted to build the sewerage system in ADh. Fenfushi.
He made the announcement during his visit to the island as part of his Alif Dhaal Atoll tour.
Residents raised concerns over the long-delayed project, which was awarded in 2021 for MVR 19.3 million and due for completion within a year. The President said the government had already paid Azrova for completed work and denied any payment delays, noting that several other Azrova projects had also stalled.
Muizzu confirmed that the project will be handed over to another party to ensure progress and pledged that work on the long-pending sewerage system will resume soon under new management.
