President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu today announced a new government scholarship for winners of the National Quran Recitation Competition.
Winners who secure first place in the three main categories recitation without looking, recitation while looking, and memorization will now qualify for government-funded education up to PhD level. The scholarship covers any field of study and can be pursued in any country.
The President made the announcement on ‘X’. He said the highest rewards must go to those who deliver the most beautiful recitation of Allah’s words.
In addition, the institution that wins first place in the overall competition will receive MVR 100,000 and a plaque of honor as part of the President’s Award.
The President also confirmed that prizes offered by the Ministry will be expanded. He said private parties will have more opportunities to present awards.
