The Criminal Court has sentenced former Fenaka MD Ahmed Saeed to four years in prison for corruption.
The court found Saeed guilty of misusing his official capacity. Prosecutors said he approved payments to Blazon without confirming the work. The move caused Fenaka a loss of MVR 848,000.
The Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed the sentence today. Saeed’s charge falls under a fourth-degree felony, carrying a maximum of four years.
Authorities also charged Procurement Head Mariyam Deena Solih in the same case.
Saeed faces another corruption case, while investigators continue probing several more against him.
