President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has handed over M. Muli’s coastal protection project to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
The agreement was signed by Construction Minister Dr. Abdullah Muttalib on behalf of the government and MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudi for the company. Under the project, MTCC will build a 363-meter rock revetment, construct two groynes, and carry out backfilling and beach nourishment. The work, valued at MVR 35.7 million, is scheduled for completion within 250 days.
During the visit, WAMCO was assigned to manage waste disposal in Muli, providing a permanent solution for the island.
Passport services were also launched, with Home Minister Ali Ihsan handing the first passport to a resident, fulfilling the President’s pledge to expand services across all atolls.
