President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu launched major development projects in Th. Vilufushi.
The plans include a new airport, a 30-bed hospital, and expanded financial services. Work on the airport started with land reclamation. The project will feature a 1,800-meter runway and will be completed in 30 months.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) is leading the work.
The government also laid the foundation for a 30-bed hospital. MTCC is carrying out the project, which will be finished in 18 months.
Passport and ATM services were inaugurated on the island. The foundation for a new BML branch and an Islamic branch was also laid.
Officials said these projects will improve healthcare, transport, and financial access for Vilufushi residents.
