President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu assured Kandoodhoo farmers that chili imports will not harm their livelihoods.
He told residents that STO will import 26 products, including chili, without disadvantaging local farmers. He said STO will also buy chili from the island to support their income.
The President pledged to boost farming benefits. He announced that a team from the Agriculture Ministry will visit Kandoodhoo to help farmers cut costs and overcome challenges in chili production.
He said the government will continue to work with STO to promote agriculture and strengthen the island’s farming community.
