President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has fulfilled his pledge to make ID card printing services available across all atolls in the Maldives.
The final service was officially launched in Felidhoo, Vaavu Atoll, during the President’s visit last night. Finance Minister Moosa Zameer inaugurated the issuance service at the ceremony.
With Felidhoo included, citizens in every atoll can now apply for and collect identity cards locally, eliminating the need to travel to Malé. During the event, the President also announced that passport issuance services will be expanded to all atolls by the end of next month.
The Administration has described the completion of this nationwide initiative as part of its commitment to decentralisation, ensuring that essential services are delivered closer to the public while modernising identity management systems.
