Nearly 500 Register for Alibaba Workshop in Maldives

The Business Center Corporation (BCC) has announced that 488 individuals have registered for an upcoming workshop for Maldivian entrepreneurs and those interested in e-commerce.

BCC’s Executive Bureau Admin Officer Ahmed Alau Ismail said the seminar will be held online on September 16. He described it as a valuable chance for local businesses to reach international markets.

The workshop will feature experts from Alibaba. They will guide participants on opening seller accounts on Alibaba.com and selling products globally.

The program, organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and BCC, saw over 155 registrations within the first 24 hours. BCC said this shows strong interest among Maldivian entrepreneurs in e-commerce.

Helping Maldivians access global e-commerce platforms, including Alibaba, is a pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
