The north side of Boduthakurufaanu Magu  in Malé has officially entered a key phase of redevelopment as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements.

According to on-site sources, 132 meters of sheet piling have already been successfully installed in the first segment of the project.

As part of the first phase of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu redevelopment project, a section of the road has been temporarily closed to facilitate construction work. MTCC has confirmed that the project includes plans to expand Boduthakurufaanu Magu, construct new harbor anchoring facilities, and carry out land reclamation. Work on the site is actively ongoing.

MTCC also stated that the redevelopment will make the road easier to use and improve transportation throughout Malé City. Additionally, they expect traffic congestion to decrease as a result of the project.

A budget of MVR 144 million has been allocated for the redevelopment project, which covers 830 meters of road development. Of this, 737 meters of sheet piling has been assigned. The main plan includes expanding the road to four lanes, adding a separate pedestrian walkway, and installing a new water drainage system. MTCC has been given a timeline of one year and three months to complete the work.
