Male’ Taxi Line has commenced operations in Vilimalé as part of efforts to improve transport services across the Greater Male’ Region.
The service was officially launched by Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed at a ceremony held at the Vilimalé Ferry Terminal.
According to MTCC, the expansion is part of the government’s plan to address taxi shortages and integrate transport services across Male’, Hulhumalé and Vilimalé through a single network.
Speaking at the ceremony, MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saud said the service will make travel more convenient for Vilimalé residents. He noted that taxis can be booked through the dedicated mobile application or by calling the hotline 1655.
Saud also said the service was designed to improve access to areas that were previously difficult for vehicles to reach, addressing a long-standing concern among residents.
Male’ Taxi Line was first launched in Male’ and Hulhumalé on April 2 and operates 24 hours a day.
