Flynas has resumed scheduled flights to the Maldives, reconnecting Riyadh and Velana International Airport with three weekly services.
The Saudi Arabian airline resumed operations on June 20, with flight XY245 arriving at Velana International Airport from Riyadh. The arrival was marked with a traditional Bodu Beru performance and a ceremonial water salute, while passengers on both the inbound and first outbound flights received special giveaways.
Flynas will operate three weekly flights between Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and Velana International Airport, providing travellers with more convenient connections between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
The return of the airline is expected to support growing travel demand from the Saudi market, which remains an important source of visitors to the Maldives. It also strengthens air links between the Maldives and the wider Middle East region.
MACL said the resumption of services further enhances Velana International Airport’s airline network and supports the continued growth of the country’s tourism and aviation sectors.
