Finance and Public Enterprises Minister Moosa Zameer has resigned from his position, citing health reasons.
The resignation was announced by Chief Government Spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef. According to Zameer’s resignation letter, he decided to step down due to ongoing health concerns that have made it difficult for him to continue carrying out his duties.
Zameer underwent medical treatment and surgery in Singapore late last year.
His resignation comes amid a series of recent cabinet changes. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has previously said such changes are intended to strengthen the administration and improve public service delivery rather than being linked to poor performance.
During his tenure, Zameer oversaw efforts related to public finance management and state-owned enterprises.
