MTCC has said sewerage and water pipe installation under the Boduthakurufaanu Magu development project will be completed by the end of this week.

The company said works on sections two, three and four of the project are progressing as scheduled, with sewerage and water network installation now reaching 87 percent completion.

MTCC added that 463 metres of quay wall capping and 150 metres of concreting have already been completed as part of the project to widen and modernise the road.

Other ongoing works include drainage installation, water main pipe relocation, cable junction preparation and road subgrading ahead of asphalt paving.

The first phase of the project stretches from the Local Market area to the Henveiru Ferry Terminal. Once completed, it will include a large parking area with space for more than 500 motorcycles, aimed at easing congestion in Malé City.

MTCC said it is targeting completion of the first phase by the end of this month.
