More than 52,000 perishable cargo packages have been cleared during the week of April 19 to 25.
According to the statistics published by MPL, A total of 52,007 perishable cargo packages were cleared during the week, including fruits, vegetables and other essential goods.
Container operations recorded 1,616 TEUs unloaded and 1,305 TEUs loaded, bringing total throughput to 2,921 TEUs.
Vessel movements included one container ship arrival and six general cargo vessels, while three container ships and eight general cargo vessels departed.
Cargo clearance reached 34,990.72 freight tonnes for container vessels and 3,028.04 tonnes for general cargo. A total of 1,133 container consignments and 349 general cargo consignments were cleared.
Officials said the figures reflect steady port operations and continued flow of essential goods.
