The Elections Commission has issued warnings to two political parties over conduct concerns.
Letters were sent to the Maldivian Democratic Party and the People’s National Front, urging compliance with national laws and regulations.
Authorities said recent political activities risk violating social norms and creating unrest among the public. The commission reminded parties to follow the Freedom of Peaceful Assembly Act.
Guidelines also advise against personal attacks, unverified claims and activities that may incite hatred. Public gatherings must remain within legally permitted areas.
Officials said adherence to these rules is necessary to maintain order and responsible political engagement.
