President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed three Ambassadors-at-Large to the Foreign Ministry.
The appointees are Adam Shareef Umar, Thoriq Ibrahim and Fathimath Dhiyana Saeed. The appointments were made to fill existing vacancies within the ministry’s diplomatic structure.
Officials said the positions are not newly created, clarifying that Ambassador-at-Large roles already exist within the government framework.
The clarification follows confusion among some outlets regarding the nature of the appointments. Authorities reiterated that the move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic representation and support the work of the Foreign Ministry.
