Maldivian has announced plans to begin direct flights to Melbourne for the first time.
The national airline said the inaugural flight will depart on May 17, with return service on May 19. Flights will operate weekly, with adjustments based on demand.
The route follows a recent agreement to strengthen air connectivity between the Maldives and Australia. Authorities said the move supports broader efforts to expand international routes.
Tourism figures show a steady rise in Australian visitors, reflecting growing demand for travel between the two countries.
