The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has donated 50 tonnes of dates to the Maldives, continuing a 22-year tradition of humanitarian support.
The donation was handed over to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments at a ceremony held at the Islamic Centre in Malé on 16 April.
Saudi Ambassador Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani presented the consignment, which was received by Minister Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed on behalf of the government.
The dates—especially significant during Ramadan—will be distributed nationwide.
Officials highlighted the donation as a reflection of the strong and ongoing friendship between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives.
