The Maldives has welcomed over 700,000 tourists so far this year.
Tourism Ministry statistics show 704,711 arrivals year-to-date, reflecting a slight decline compared to last year. Officials linked the drop to disruptions caused by the Middle East conflict.
Monthly arrivals recorded strong numbers in January and February, followed by a dip in March and early April.
China remains the top source market, followed by Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy and Germany. European markets continue to dominate overall arrivals.
Most visitors arrived by air, with only a small number entering by sea. Authorities said tourism infrastructure continues to expand, with over 1,300 establishments currently in operation.
