PNC has secured a landslide in island council presidencies, while MDP has won the most seats overall, including city councils.

Elections Commission results show PNC led in 16 atolls, with strong performances across several islands. MDP secured the most support in a smaller number of atolls but maintained a strong presence nationwide.

In city results, MDP retained control, winning mayoral and council seats in Malé, Addu, Fuvahmulah, Kulhudhuffushi and Thinadhoo. PNC recorded limited success in city constituencies.

Overall, MDP secured 246 seats, including mayoral, council president and member positions. PNC followed with 218 seats, while independents and smaller parties also won a share of seats.

Vote totals show a close contest, with MDP slightly ahead despite PNC’s gains in island councils. The results highlight a divide between island and city voting patterns.
