Construction of 182 housing units in Hulhumalé Phase I has officially begun under the BML Affordable Housing Project.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officiated the groundbreaking. FW Construction Company is carrying out the project under BML’s housing scheme.
The project includes three-room apartments of 900 square feet. It forms part of a wider plan to develop 3,260 housing units across Hulhumalé and Vilimalé.
The scheme follows a lease-to-own model to support homeownership. Completion is scheduled for August 2028.
Work has also begun on additional housing units in Hulhumalé Phase II and Vilimalé under the same programme.
