President Mohamed Muizzu has announced that land reclamation at Giravaru Falhu is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed in April.
Sharing an update on X, the President said surveys will follow, with the handover of land plots scheduled to begin in June.
He also noted that the project has been accelerated, with two dredgers currently operating.
The initiative forms part of the government’s housing policy, which includes allocating reclaimed land plots in the Malé region.
