State Trading Organization (STO) has decided to supply fuel to public transport and ferry operators at fixed prices to ease cost pressures.
STO said subsidised fuel under the government’s ‘Fahihakatha’ programme for fishermen will also continue.
The decision comes as global fuel prices fluctuate due to the Middle East conflict, impacting prices in the Maldives.
They said the move aims to ensure steady fuel supply without placing financial strain on the public, adding that previously announced prices by Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company will remain unchanged
