Maldives Police Service has arrested two men on suspicion of smuggling and selling drugs in the Maldives.
Police identified the suspects as Ismail Abaan Abdulla, 25, from Malé, and Ahmed Dan Farhood, 19, from Maradhoo, Addu City.
Authorities made the arrests during a joint operation by the Maldives Police Service and Maldives Customs Service on 5 August.
Officers seized more than six kilograms of drugs during the operation.
A court later ordered the two suspects to be remanded in custody for five days while investigations continue.
