Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has delivered 56 ambulances to islands nationwide under its programme to ensure sustainable ambulance services across the Maldives. One additional ambulance was handed over to the Maldives Correctional Service.
MPL began distributing the vehicles on January 17 and completed the rollout on August 14.
The company’s technical team also trained hospital and health centre staff on ambulance operation and maintenance, and assisted in identifying issues with existing units.
MPL said it is now in discussions with the Ministry of Health to establish a service contract and ensure a steady supply of spare parts.
