Works for the N. Vihafaru airport has officially begun with the start of land reclamation.
The launch ceremony was held at the project site with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu in attendance. The project was inaugurated by Economic Development Minister Mohamed Saeed and MACL Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed.
The project will be developed in two phases. Phase One includes reclaiming 42 hectares of land and constructing 4,267 metres of revetment, while Phase Two will deliver a 1,500-metre runway.
