Land reclamation works in Th. Vilufushi has reached 80 percent completion, with 65 hectares reclaimed out of the planned 81 hectares.
The project is being carried out using the dredger Filippo Brunelleschi, which has a capacity of 11,300 cubic metres. Officials said the works are progressing steadily and remain on schedule.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) commenced the land reclamation project on 14 November 2025.
