Police has recorded 67 traffic accidents on roads and bridges across Malé City last week, with most incidents occurring during daytime hours.
Police statistics show that the highest number of accidents in a single day occurred on August 6. Of the total incidents, 56 took place in Malé, while 11 occurred on the highway.
Motorcycle-to-car collisions accounted for the largest share of accidents. Police recorded 19 such crashes during the week.
Five accidents left one person seriously injured. No serious injuries were reported in the remaining 66 accidents.
The accidents damaged a total of 87 vehicles. Most incidents happened during the day, with 46 daytime accidents. Police recorded 21 accidents at night.
