Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced walk-in interviews this Saturday for people seeking part-time jobs as drivers in the government’s new national taxi service, set to launch in February.
MTCC said interviews will be held at the Maafannu Bus Terminal from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Applicants must bring a valid driver’s licence and national ID card to be considered.
The government taxi service, now contracted to MTCC, is being rolled out in phases, with 100 vehicles expected to be introduced in the first phase at a cost of MVR 80 million. The service aims to improve the availability and reliability of taxis in the Greater Malé area when it begins operations next month.
