Work on the second phase of Boduthakurufaanu Magu has been gaining momentum, with major construction milestones already reached, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) said.
MTCC confirmed that 48 metres of sheet piling have been completed as part of the road widening works in Malé City. Land reclamation is also progressing steadily. Crews have begun planting trees along pedestrian areas, adding a greener touch to the busy corridor.
Utility works are moving fast as well. MTCC said 50 percent of the pipes for the new water and sewerage system are already in place.
The second phase of the project covers the stretch from the Local Market to the North Harbor. MTCC expects to complete the project before Ramadan next year, easing congestion and improving access in one of Malé’s busiest areas.
