Velana International Airport has opened a new seaplane check-in facility at Terminal 1, giving passengers a more comfortable and organised start to their resort transfers.
The new check-in counters, located near Gate 4 of Terminal 1, cover around 600 square metres and accommodate 24 seaplane operators serving destinations across the Maldives.
Compared to the existing seaplane check-in area at Terminal 2, the Terminal 1 facility is fully air-conditioned and offers more seating space for passengers waiting for their flights.
To support smoother operations, additional vehicle access has also been provided, including nine slots for passenger buses, 10 for luggage vehicles and 11 for standby vehicles, helping to reduce congestion around the check-in area.
