Joe Keery’s song End of Beginning has topped the UK charts after going viral following the Stranger Things season five finale. The 2022 track previously peaked at number four.
Several classic hits from the show are also returning to the charts. Prince’s Purple Rain, Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill, Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide, and The Police’s Every Breath You Take have all re-entered the UK top 40.
Music analysts say TikTok is driving the surge. “Nostalgia engages older listeners, while younger audiences discover these songs for the first time,” said Sarah Kloboves of Chartmetric.
