The Hulhumalé Phase 3 land reclamation project has reached 87 percent completion, with 55 hectares already reclaimed.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) contracted Sri Lanka’s Capital Marine and Civil Construction (CMC) to carry out the reclamation work. The project aims to reclaim a total of 63 hectares of land.
Work on the project was temporarily halted but resumed on November 10. Since then, construction has picked up pace.
MACL said the remaining work is expected to be completed within the next one and a half months. The accelerated schedule is intended to bring the third phase of the Hulhumalé development closer to completion.
