The night flight test at Funadhoo Airport in Shaviyani Atoll has landed, marking the start of night operations at the airport.
Maldivian’s test flight touched down at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, carrying officials from Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA), and Island Aviation Services. Following the successful flight, MCAA has cleared Funadhoo Airport to operate night flights.
The airport upgrades include runway extensions, a modern lounge, improved terminal facilities, baggage conveyor belts, and a new restaurant. Lighting for night operations was installed by the end of last year, according to the President.
