The Criminal Court has sentenced Hassan Mamdhooh, known as Mandey, to 397 years in prison for fraudulently selling K-Park flats at inflated prices.
Mandey, a former shareholder of Hunbo Maldives, faced 104 charges filed by the state. These included fraud, forgery, and money laundering linked to the K-Park housing scheme. The court found him guilty on 94 charges last week and delivered the sentence today.
The court handed Mandey long prison terms for multiple fraud-related offences and sentenced him to 15 years for money laundering. It also fined him MVR 30 million and ordered the state to seize a basement parking slot attached to his apartment.
Another defendant, Jaishan Saeed, was also convicted in the case. The court sentenced him to 159 years and seven months in prison for fraud-related offences and aiding money laundering, and fined him MVR 300,000.
