The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has announced that applications for land and flats under the government’s “Housing for All” program will open on January 15, 2026, and remain open until April 14, 2026.
A total of 7,900 flats will be allocated under the program. Of these, 4,000 flats are designated for residents of Malé City, 100 flats for single mothers and single fathers with children under 18, and 100 flats for people with disabilities.
In addition to flats, a new policy will issue land plots of 1,250 square feet to residents of Malé City and Rasmale’, under the government’s Housing for All and family housing schemes.
The policy update follows concerns raised by residents of Malé City in recent meetings. The government emphasized that providing housing for those without adequate accommodation remains a key priority of the current administration.
