Construction has begun on a new building for the Huraa Health Center to expand healthcare services on the island.
Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim inaugurated the project at a ceremony attended by Huraa MP Anaara Naeem, MTCC Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Jamsheed, council members, and senior government officials.
The project includes a two storey building with a total area of 15,650 square feet. It will house a 16 bed health care facility, with each floor covering 7,825 square feet.
Work will include earth leveling, concrete and masonry works, tiling, and installation of doors. The project also covers water pumping systems, drainage, electrical wiring, medical gas systems, air conditioning, and fire safety equipment.
The project is valued at MVR 27.23 million and is scheduled for completion within 360 days.
