Land reclamation at Rasmale’ Site A has reached 17 percent, with 23 hectares reclaimed out of the planned 137.5 hectares.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) said works are being carried out using Cristóbal Colón, one of the world’s two largest trailing suction hopper dredgers. The vessel has a capacity of 46,000 cubic metres and is operated by Jan De Nul.
MACL began reclamation works at Rasmale’ Site A on 1 December 2025.
