The government has awarded MTCC the third phase of the R. Dhuvaafaru road development project.
The agreement was signed during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to the island for Fishermen’s Day. Construction Minister Dr. Hussain Rasheed signed for the government, while MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saud signed for the contractor.
The project covers 75 roads over 16.65 kilometres. Works include drainage, service lines, pavements, driving lanes, and street lighting.
Valued at MVR 312.66 million, the project will be completed within 810 days. Officials say the new phase will improve road safety and modernise Dhuvaafaru’s transport network.
