RTL bus services has officially begun in Dhuvaafaru, marking a new transport option for island residents during Fishermen’s Day celebrations.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the service upon his arrival on the island. The government says the buses will ease daily travel for Dhuvaafaru’s population of around 4,000.
The service will run from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on school days. On Saturdays and school holidays, buses will operate from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
MTCC operates the RTL service. In addition, construction of a new volleyball court has begun on the island. MTCC is also handling that project.
