The Fishermen’s Forum marking the 45th Fishermen’s Day has begun in Dhuvaafaru, Raa Atoll.
This year’s national Fishermen’s Day celebrations are being held in Dhuvaafaru. The forum runs on the 10th and 11th of this month.
Officials, including Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam, joined the event. Forty-seven fishermen from nine atolls and four fish processing companies took part.
The forum aims to share information with fishermen and address challenges in the industry. Participants discussed key issues and explored ways to strengthen the fisheries sector.
Minister Shiyam assured fishermen that the ministry will work to resolve their concerns.
