Works on Segment 1 of Phase 1 of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu development project have been completed, with the area now officially opened to the public.
Segment 1 involved reclaiming land and extending the outer seawall by 6 meters to allow for the widening of the road.
The MVR 144 million project covers a total development length of 830 meters. Key components include expanding the road to four lanes, creating a dedicated pedestrian lane, and installing an upgraded drainage system.
The next stage will see the start of Phase 2, which will focus on a 250-meter section from the Local Market to the North Harbor.
MTCC has been tasked with executing the project, with a completion deadline of one year and three months.
