Two people died after a dinghy carrying 14 passengers capsized near the MPL harbor on Monday evening.

Police said the dinghy overturned yesterday evening with 14 people on board. Rescue teams located everyone soon after.

Six passengers four Maldivians and two expatriates were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Two of them suffered severe injuries. Their condition worsened, and they died while receiving treatment.

Police identified the deceased as Mohamed Aflah Abdulla, from Dilbahaaruge, G.A. Gemanafushi, and Masud Hossain, 32, a Bangladeshi national.
