Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded the harbour development project for K. Gulhi, following the completion ceremony of the island’s land reclamation and beach protection works.
The new harbour project will be completed within 530 days, according to MTCC.
The land reclamation and beach protection project, also carried out by MTCC, has now been officially completed. The development added 10.15 hectares of new land to Gulhi, significantly expanding the island’s usable area.
Works completed under the reclamation project include:
-
940-meter revetment
-
362-meter geobag revetment
-
88-meter retaining wall
With the reclamation phase completed, MTCC will now move forward with harbour development. The combined projects aim to expand land availability, strengthen coastal protection, and enhance harbour services for the growing community of Gulhi.
