Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced that 85% of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu development project has now been completed.
According to MTCC, major components of the project are progressing steadily, with ongoing work including the installation of service lines, a water drainage system, and sidewalks. The company added that sub-base work is scheduled to begin this week.
The project, valued at MVR 144 million, covers an 830-meter stretch of roadway, of which 737 meters will be reinforced with sheet piles.
Once completed, the project will feature four-lane roads, dedicated pedestrian lanes, and a modern drainage system designed to ease traffic flow and reduce flooding. The development has been given a total timeframe of one year and three months.
