The government has launched multiple development projects in Fuvahmulah City, including a city hotel, eco tourism venture, and new community facilities.
The projects were handed over during a special ceremony held as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to the city.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) was awarded contracts to build a city hotel, an integrated eco-tourism project, and a sports complex. Sports Minister Abdullah Rafiu and State Minister of Tourism Mohamed Nashaath Rasheed signed the agreements on behalf of the government, while MACL Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed signed for the company.
Additional projects include developing an Islamic Center, a Youth Third Space, a harbor, and 75 housing units.
The initiatives aim to expand tourism, improve city infrastructure, and enhance quality of life for Fuvahmulah residents.
