President Thanks Citizens as Key National Reforms Come Into Force

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed gratitude to citizens and institutions for their role in implementing major national reforms that took effect today.

He thanked all those involved in advancing initiatives that strengthen public health, fisheries, and civil service welfare.

  • The Generational Tobacco Ban now prohibits tobacco use for everyone born on or after January 1, 2007.
  • Gulper Shark Fishing has been authorized under a strict management plan to ensure sustainability.
  • Civil Service Salaries have been harmonized and increased for all employees, including council staff.

President Muizzu said these measures mark a major milestone in improving health, governance, and economic stability across the Maldives.
