Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen has announced that the government will reopen its search for a helicopter service provider before December.
He told the People’s Majlis that the ministry plans to introduce the service within a year.
Ameen explained that 36 companies had submitted bids in August, but concerns over terms favoring the state paused the process. The ministry will revise the proposal and relaunch it soon.
The minister said the helicopter service will boost emergency response, improve travel for remote communities, and strengthen national connectivity.
