The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed an agreement with the Sports Ministry to carry out 11 projects across 10 islands.
The agreement was signed by MTCC’s Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Jamsheed, and Deputy Ministers Mohamed Fayaz, Hussain Nihad, and Aslam Raha on behalf of the ministry.
Under the agreement, MTCC will build futsal and volleyball courts, as well as fitness and recreation centers, in multiple islands. This includes a futsal ground in L. Fonadhoo, volleyball courts in L. Hithadhoo, L. Maavah, and H.A. Vashafaru, and fitness centers in K. Maafushi, K. Dhiffushi, K. Gulhi, K. Thulusdhoo, K. Himmafushi, and K. Huraa.
The projects aim to expand access to community sports facilities and encourage active, healthy lifestyles across the islands.
