Police Attend to 71 Theft Cases in Malé During September

Police in Malé attended to 71 theft cases in September, along with 16 assaults and 12 robberies, according to the latest statistics from the Malé Frontline Policing unit.

Between September 1 and 31, officers also responded to 10 traffic accidents, carried out over 27,000 location checks, and ran 86 vehicle checkpoints. A total of 5,264 people were stopped and questioned. Police said most of them had prior criminal records.

Recovered items included 109 motorcycles, 13 phones, 4 electronic devices, and nearly MVR 590,000 in cash. One foreign national was also handed over to Immigration during the same period.

Alongside law enforcement, police held 703 community interactions and helped resolve 187 public concerns last month.
